About the Artist: Yuji Kaida
Born in Hyogo, Japan, in 1953, Yuji Kaida is a celebrated illustrator specializing in science fiction and fantasy artwork, particularly monsters and giant robots. His work spans a wide range of media, including plastic model kits, toys, video games, films, music releases, magazine covers, trading cards, and movie posters.
He received the 28th Seiun Award in the Art category in 1997 and the Citizen’s Award at the Fantasia Land Awards during the 24th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in 2014.

1953年 兵庫県生まれ。日本SF作家クラブ会員。
怪獣やロボットなどのSF、ファンタジーイラスト制作を中心に活動。プラモデル、玩具、映像ソフト、ゲームソフト、音楽ソフトのパッケージや、雑誌や単行本表紙、トレーディングカード、映画ポスターなど幅広い分野のイラスト作品を手がける。
1997年 第28回星雲賞（アート部門）受賞。
2014年 第24回ゆうばり国際映ファンタスティック映画祭、ファンタランド大賞市民賞受賞。
