The Ikeda Kohgei x Lightning helmet bag was released previously and was very popular. Many of you may already have one.This time, a mini version of that helmet bag is now available!

It is just the right size to hold a paperback book, glasses, smartphone, or cigarettes, making it a perfect walking bag. The design is a traditional helmet bag, but it's small and cute. I, Mohawk Ogawa, also love to take walks. I walk everyday to show off my leather jacket and boots, and this bag is just the right size for that. It is the size of a pochette, so I think women can use it too.

The material used was 1.2mm thick vegetable tanned and pigmented horsehide. In fact, this is a pure domestic horsehide made from Japanese horsehide called “jinama” and tanned in Japan. The leather is dyed brown and then finished in black, so the more you use it, the more the brown of the original color will come out. The more you walk around with it, the more it will become a real walking bag of the best quality.

This time, we asked Ikeda Kohgei in Osaka to produce the bag. Ikeda Kogei, founded in 1942, is a long-established company. Ikeda Kogei is a well-known brand specializing in exotic leathers such as crocodile and python. Many of you may have heard of it.　They have their own factory, and their craftsmen are very skilled!　The sewing and finishing of each part is also perfected to a perfect level of perfection.

Detail

All accessories are made of brass. The brass parts, which can be expected to change with age, give the bag a fun “nurturing” experience, just like the aging of tea-core leather. The D-can in the center of the outer surface is a horseshoe-shaped D-can, called a dog-half-moon shape, which goes well with the brass zippers often used on leather jackets and other leather goods.
The inside pocket is an easy-to-use size of 18 cm wide and 15 cm high. The name of Ikeda Kohgei's product is made of luxurious crocodile skin. We have thoroughly paid attention to even the parts that cannot be seen. The zipper for the opening is the same as before, a universal zipper reproduced from the American zippers of the 40's and 50's.
The outside pocket can be opened and closed with a snap button. The outer pocket can be opened and closed with a snap button, and it is a leather-wrapped snap button. Since it is a frequently touched area, it is expected to age well. In addition, the rivets on the bottom of the pocket are black lacquered, and when the tea core appears on the body of the bag, the shiny black rivets will make their presence felt.
Since the bag is based on a vintage helmet bag motif, it appears to have two cargo compartments, but it has one compartment to easily accommodate a paperback book or other items. While sampling the vintage style, the pocket size is designed for ease of use.
The strap is made entirely of brass, from the nacelle to the buckle and rivets.
